Please read the following article for important information regarding the existing hockey season...
Dear TSMHA Members:
As you are aware, Windsor-Essex County will be moving to "Control" or "red" status as of Monday, November 30, 2020 due to the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 in our region.
As a result of this announcement, effective Monday, November 30, 2020, all games / scrimmages and practices will be postponed until Thurday December 3, 2020.
You may be aware that other municipalities within the region are closing down facilities and Minor Hockey Associations are suspending programs. The TSMHA Board recognizes that the stringent measures reflected in the Control (Red) Category are meant to control transmission and spread of COVID-19; at the same time, the Board is also keenly aware of the positive impact that continued physical activity has for our players.
Your TSHMA Board is currently engaging in discussions with the Town of Tecumseh and the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit to determine the express nature of the limitations established for regions in the "Control" category. The result of these discussions will provide the Board with valuable information regarding whether TSMHA will continue to schedule ice time in December. If not, the ice time will be carried over to the new year.
Your TSMHA Board understands the impact that uncertainty has for you and your player; however, we do not wish to cancel all activities until we have all available information. The safety and well being of all our members and families is the upmost importance to us.
The TSMHA Board will be meeting again on Tuesday, December 1; an update will be posted as soon as possible thereafter. Information regarding "Control" status can be found at the following link: https://www.ontario.ca/page/covid-19-response-framework-keeping-ontario-safe-and-open
