Tecumseh Coach Appointed “New” Head Coach Amherstburg Admirals Jr C
Zack Gervais has been appointed as the new head coach for the Amherstburg Admirals Junior C team.

Zack is a graduate of the TSMHA travel program both as a player and a coach. Zack who is 28 has already compiled quite a coaching resume. He began coaching at the age of 16. Over the last 12 years he has served as an assistant coach with the Amherstburg Admirals, Tecumseh Eagles U18AA team, Talbot Trail Blazers U18A team, St Annes High School Varsity team and 2 years as the head coach of the Tecumseh Eagles U16AA travel team. In 2017 Zack was chosen as the CHL Team Liaison for the Windsor Spitfires Memorial Cup Championship Tournament team. In addition, Zack has been selected twice as a coach for the Eastern Division U18 Bluewater All Star Team.

Zack continues to assist TSMHA with Skill Development this season and consults with our travel program at the older levels. Zack in an interview with local media, thanked his mentors in Tecumseh, that have helped shape his coaching career. (Bob Labute, Pat Gray, Matt McPherson, Ron Sanko, Marc Crevier and others)

Zack recognized the strength of TSMHA pointing out how the U18 program has gotten players to the next level.  Several players Zack has worked directly with have gone on to Junior C, Junior B, NCAA and the OUA. Zack looks forward to coaching Amherstburg and the GM reported that the players were excited to have Zack steering the ship.

Zack was joined on the bench in his first game as head coach vs the Essex 73s by his former coaching partners, Bob Labute and Glenn Gervais. Powerhouse Essex was kept to a one goal lead until they got a last second empty netter. The Admirals played a great game for their new coach.

Congrats Zack, and good luck at Junior C.
