Green Giants learn that PURPLE ROCKS !
Purple Rocks! rebounded from a 5-2 drubbing at the hands of the Green Giants on November 20 to blank those same Giants 3-0 exactly one week later.
Purple got off to a rockin' start with Gadd opening the scoring on a wicked wrister from the left low circle. This was to be the Rocks' second victory of the season from #19's early efforts.
It was evident early on that the Giants' attempted rushes were scuttled by pillars of purple - determined to keep netminder McMahon's work minimal.
With one of the Rocks in the box Teti wasted no time on translating a blocked pass to a breakaway. The towering winger eluded the Giants' defence and beat a well-tested Carlone for a shorthanded goal.
The Rocks put the game out of reach with a strange 3rd period deflection found its way to the back of the net.
The Giants dispensed six attackers for the last three minutes of the game to no avail .. a testament to Purple rock-solid backchecking and tidy goaltending.
Impossible to select 3 stars for this one as it was team effort at its finest !
