Bantam Majors leave it all on the ice in Finals OT loss...
The Bantam Majors travelled to Halton Hills this Thanksgiving weekend to compete in the Halton Hills "Best-of-the-Best" tournament. The team played solid hockey all weekend. The team finished 3rd in their pool and advanced to the Qtr Finals where they met the Whitby Wildcats. After a back and forth game, the Eagles found themselves on top with a 1-0 victory. Thankgiving Monday rolled around and the team found themselves once again facing the Gloucester Rangers, whom they tied 2-2 in the first game of the tournament. In another hard faught battle, the kids were victorious once again with a 3-1 win. Off to the Finals to face the Cumberland Jr Grads. After an afternoon thanksgiving Italian feast arranged by Len, the team was ready for the finals. The Eagles took a 1-0 lead into the third period in front of some stellar net minding by Katie. The Grads tied the game approx. halfway through the third. Both teams had their chances in the remaining minutes of regulation and it was off to OT. Cumberland netted the game winner around a minute into overtime, after a scramble in front of the net resulted in a bounce off a skate that ended up right on the Cumberland players stick for the game winner.
The team battled and played hard all weekend...you should be proud
