The Tecumseh Eagles U10 A team continued their remarkable season this past weekend, winning their third tournament championship of the year at the Belle River Memorial Representative Tournament.

The Eagles came out flying in the Preliminary Round, blitzing the field with a 3-0-1 record. They opened the tournament in a marquee matchup against the Bruce Grey Bulls - currently ranked 4th in Ontario - battling to a hard-fought 2-2 draw. Tecumseh followed that effort with dominant victories over the Flamborough Sabres, London Jr. Mustangs and Georgian Bay Islanders, showcasing both depth and discipline.

Their strong play earned them the #1 seed heading into playoff action.

The Semi-Final featured a rematch with the Bulls, and the Eagles proved they were ready from the opening puck drop - even at 7am on Sunday. Tecumseh’s energy never wavered, executing a clinical, disciplined game plan to secure a 4-1 victory and a well-deserved place in the Championship Final. It was the Bulls' first loss to a U10 team this season.

Awaiting them in the Final was the host team, the Belle River Jr. Canadiens, ranked 3rd in Ontario and an offensive powerhouse all weekend with 34 goals scored through round robin and Semi-Final play. The atmosphere inside Shuren Rink at the Atlas Tube Centre was electric for what became an intense, high-tempo championship showdown.

Tecumseh stormed out to a 3-0 lead, showcasing speed, structure and relentless forechecking. But Belle River surged back with momentum, tying the game 3-3 and igniting the packed arena.

With the tournament on the line, the Eagles showed the resilience and composure that have defined their season so far. They struck twice in the third period and locked things down defensively to earn a 5-3 Championship win.

This victory marks the Eagles’ third tournament title of the season, adding to earlier championships at the New Hamburg Early Bird Classic in Baden, ON and the Peter Mancuso November Challenge in Niagara Falls, ON.

With another banner, the team now returns focus to Bluewater League Regular Season play before heading to the Oakville Winter Classic in January, where Tecumseh will look to make it four-for-four in tournament competition.
